BUKU Music + Art Project

descriptionFar from the typical, sprawling mega-festival, BUKU offers an intimate music experience complete with state-of-the-art sound and light shows for fans of progressive music. BUKU is staged on the grounds of Mardi Gras World on the riverfront near the Warehouse/Arts District, which gives the festival a post-industrial vibe that fits perfectly with BUKU’s fusion of EDM, hip-hop and various sub-genres of indie rock.

In addition to the festival’s all-star lineup and regional acts, BUKU features cutting-edge contemporary artists’ eye-popping art installations that play with light, sound and graffiti. And, because this is New Orleans, you’ll also find a range of food from local vendors that far exceeds typical festival eats.

NEW IN 2013
BUKU has added a third stage inside of Mardi Gras World, the giant warehouse on the Mississippi River where Mardi Gras floats are created and stored. For BUKU, the space features a new and improved ballroom, massive new art installations, performance slots for more music, no separate ticket required for the on-site late-nights, more live bands and hip-hop, a better VIP experience including access to the S.S. BUKU aka Creole Queen riverboat, and bigger and better audio and visual production.
